What you get
Real screens

Captured on from an internal test exam generated on ; the score is one of our own test attempts. Your exam is written new for you.
Every question quotes the page it came from, and the quote is checked against that page.
A 58-year-old man presents with acute chest pain. ECG shows ST-segment elevation in leads V1 to V4. Which coronary artery is most likely occluded?
Occlusion of the left anterior descending artery produces ST elevation in the precordial leads V1 through V4.Quote checked against the page. A second model answered it blind.
You only see what survived, with the quote printed under it. A question the second model has not answered in time is marked as quote checked only.
The free sample is your exam's real format, shorter, with a timer, a score and the explanations. If you want the whole exam, it is one payment, and nothing renews.
Turn your notes into exam questions you can check.
Upload a PDF, a Word file, a slide deck, a text file, text you paste or a web page, and get exam questions back, each one quoting the line it came from and checked against it.
MedUni Exam is a file to quiz generator for students of medicine and the health sciences: medicine, nursing, pharmacy, dentistry, physiotherapy and biomedical science. Textbooks, lecture slides, scanned notes, up to 3,000 pages a document with optical character recognition for up to 600 scanned pages. PDF, Word, PowerPoint and plain text files all work, as does text you paste in and a public web page you give the address of. It writes single best answer multiple choice questions, clinical vignettes, multi-select, true/false and short answer, then rejects any question whose quotes are not on the cited page or a page beside it, or whose answer a second model will not confirm. The free plan is 500 verified questions a month with a confirmed account, 200 a month as a guest without signing up, and there is no card to enter.
Every question must cite verbatim quotes from your document, with page numbers. The server checks each quote against the stored text of that page and the pages beside it, and rejects the question if it is not there. A question with options then goes to a second AI model, which sees only the quotes; disagreement with the answer key rejects the question. A short answer skips that check, and a question the second model has not answered in time is marked as quote checked only. What survives shows its sources under every answer.
Works in any language, and quality varies by language: the questions come out in the language of your document, or in the one you pick.
The second model answers only questions with options to choose from: a short answer question has none, so it skips this check and is graded against the source when you answer it. A question the second model does not answer in time is kept on the quote check alone, with a badge that says so, and is checked again later; if the second model then disagrees, the question is taken out of the exam. The second model is from a different family whenever one answers; when none does, a model of the same family does the check, and as a last resort the model that wrote the question.
The free plan gives you 500 verified questions a month with a confirmed account on a pool of open-weight models, or 200 a month if you start as a guest without an account, with uploads, grading, mastery tracking, spaced review, exams and the tutor included. Pro is £21.99 a month or £109.99 a year and moves your jobs onto the priority models, there is a £39.99 exam pass that runs for 90 days if you would rather not subscribe. See pricing. Try it as a guest; register only if you want your library and grades kept across devices.
Every generated question must include one or two verbatim quotes from the uploaded document, with page numbers. The server verifies each quote appears on the cited page or a page beside it, word for word or as a near match, and rejects the question if it does not. On a question with options, a second AI model then answers seeing only those quotes; if it disagrees with the answer key, the question is rejected. A short answer skips that second check, and a question the second model has not answered in time is marked as quote checked only. Accepted questions display their source quotes and page numbers.
Yes. Pages without a text layer are read with optical character recognition automatically, so photographed or scanned lecture notes and old textbooks work the same as digital PDFs.
Word (.docx), PowerPoint (.pptx) and plain text (.txt and .md) files, lecture caption files (.vtt and .srt), text you paste into the box, and a public web page by its address. A PowerPoint file is read one slide per slide, so its questions cite slide numbers. Word files, text files, caption files, pasted text and web pages have no pages of their own, so they are cut into numbered sections of about 2,500 characters and questions cite those.
A file can be up to 400 MB and 3,000 pages, of which up to 600 may be scanned pages, and an account can upload 25 files a day. A large text PDF is read by your browser, which sends only its text, so a whole textbook goes up in seconds. Scanned pages, Word and PowerPoint files are read on the server, which takes files up to 90 MB.
MedUni Exam itself does not use your documents to train any AI model. Passages of your file go to the AI providers that write and check your questions, and scanned pages go to Google Cloud Vision to be read; the privacy policy names every one. The paid plans run on providers that state they do not train on your text, though a paid call those providers cannot take, because a site-wide daily limit is spent, a provider refuses it or it times out, goes to the free pool instead of failing. The free lane runs on open-weight models, and some free tiers may use what is sent to improve their models, so for material that must not be used that way, pay or do not upload it. The app shows which lane a job will run on before you start it. Do not upload anything with personal data about other people in it, such as patient records. Your documents stay until you delete them, which you can do at any time from the account page, and a guest workspace's files are deleted after 30 days without activity. You can try it without an account. Whether your lecturer's slides may be uploaded is up to your school: the article on uploading slides sums up what four medical schools' AI policies say.
There is a free plan with 500 verified questions a month with a confirmed account, 200 a month if you start as a guest without an account. Uploads, grading, per-chapter mastery, spaced review, exams and the AI tutor are included on it. For heavier study there is a Pro subscription and a 90 day exam pass, both listed on the pricing page.
Within 14 days of a purchase on this website, a question pack, the Exam Pass or Pro is refunded in full if you have not used it yet, one refund per person. Using it means a download, a job or answer key check paid for by the Exam Pass or Pro, more than 10 tutor questions in a day, more post-exam debriefs in a day than the free plan gives, more scanned pages read than the free plan gives, an exam or a review session longer than the free plan allows, or a question spent from a pack. Email support@meduniexam.com from the address on your account with the date of the payment, no reason needed; the refund policy also sets out your legal right to cancel.
Students in medicine and the health sciences who are examined on their own course material: medicine, nursing, pharmacy, dentistry, physiotherapy and biomedical science. The questions come from the documents you upload, so the subject is whatever you are studying.

Measured on the live site on September 23, 2026 on the free pool: 20 questions from an OpenStax anatomy chapter of 44 to 60 pages in about 15 to 18 seconds. Reading is faster still: a 900 page textbook was read and stored in under 40 seconds, measured on September 12, 2026. Those runs, with the file and the date beside each one, are the whole speed claim. A longer job, or a busy hour on the free lane, takes longer.
On Pro or the Exam Pass, yes. Any exam or any whole document downloads as a tab separated file for Anki, as a CSV for a spreadsheet, or as a page built for a printer. Every question takes its answer, its source quote and its page number with it. The free plan does not include downloads, and answers 10 tutor questions a day.
