Terms of service

This English text is the binding version. The copies of this page in other languages are translations, for convenience.
These terms are an agreement between you and the operator of MedUni Exam at meduniexam.com. MedUni Exam is operated by an individual trading as MedUni Exam, based in England. The postal address is Hailsham, East Sussex, BN27, United Kingdom. Using the service means you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use the service.
1. The service
MedUni Exam generates practice exam questions from documents you upload, verifies them against those documents, grades your answers and tracks what you have learned. It is a study tool. Questions are produced by automated systems and may contain mistakes despite the checks. You are responsible for deciding what to rely on.
2. No medical advice
Nothing generated by the service is medical advice, a diagnosis or a treatment recommendation, and it must not be used to make decisions about the care of any person. It is exam practice built from material you supplied.
3. Accounts
You may try the service as a guest. A guest workspace is temporary: if you leave nothing in it, it is removed three days after it is created, and if it holds documents, they are deleted after 30 days with no activity in it. You can also delete the whole workspace at once from its Account page. Registering with an email address keeps your library, grades and review queue. You must be at least 16 years old, you must give an address you control, and you are responsible for what happens under your account. Keep your password to yourself. Tell us at support@meduniexam.com if you believe someone else has access.
4. What you upload
You confirm that you have the right to upload each document and to have it processed for your own study. Do not upload material you are not allowed to copy, patient records or any other personal data about other people. You keep ownership of everything you upload. You grant us a limited license to store, extract text from, send to the AI providers listed in the privacy policy, and process your documents purely to provide the service to you. That license ends when you delete the document. We do not use your documents to train models and we do not publish them. Questions generated on the free plan run on third-party free tiers whose providers may use submitted content to improve their own models; the privacy policy sets out which providers and what that means. Paid plans run on interfaces whose providers state that submitted content is not used for training, but a paid call those interfaces cannot take, because a site-wide daily limit is spent, a provider refuses it or it times out, goes to the free pool instead of failing, and the passages in that call carry the same risk as a free-plan job.
Shared sets: when you share a set, anyone who has its link can take the questions, read after answering the short quotes from your file that they cite, and add a copy to their own workspace. Share a set only with people you study with, and only when you may pass those quotes on to them. You can remove the link at any time; copies already added stay with the people who added them. If a shared set uses your material without permission, report it from the set or write to support@meduniexam.com. We review every such report and take the set down when it holds.
5. Acceptable use
- Do not share an account. One account is for one person.
- Do not resell generated questions or present them as an original question bank.
- Do not attempt to break, overload or reverse engineer the service, or to extract other users’ data.
- Do not use automated clients to drive generation beyond normal personal study.
- Do not upload malware or content that is unlawful in the United Kingdom.
- Do not share sets, names or quotes that are offensive, hateful, harassing or sexual. There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users: we remove such content and may close the account that posted it.
6. Plans, payment and renewal
The free plan includes 500 verified questions a month. Paid options are a Pro subscription billed monthly or yearly, a 90 day Exam Pass bought once, and a single full exam from the exam generator, bought once for the exam you choose and to be generated within 12 months of buying it; a full exam of more than 225 questions is a long full exam, at its own price. Prices are shown on the pricing page in British pounds, or in a fixed local currency for some countries, and no tax is added at checkout. Payments are taken by Stripe; we never see your card number.
500 verified questions a month with a confirmed account, 200 a month as a guest with no account
Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period at the price shown when you subscribed, until you cancel. You can cancel at any time in Account. Canceling stops the next renewal and leaves your access in place until the end of the period you have paid for. If a payment fails, access continues while the payment is retried; if it keeps failing the subscription ends.
When the checkout asks you to start your plan at once and you agree, your plan starts as soon as you have paid. The refund policy sets out what that means for a refund and for your legal right to cancel.
If you buy Pro or the Exam Pass in the iOS app, the purchase goes through the App Store and works differently. Apple takes the payment under its own terms, at the price and in the currency the App Store shows, handles any tax on it, and we never see your payment details. A Pro subscription bought there renews automatically through Apple until you cancel it in the subscription settings of your Apple Account, at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; your access stays until the end of the period you have paid for. It is not canceled in Account, and deleting your MedUni Exam account does not cancel it. Apple decides refunds of App Store purchases, as the refund policy explains. Full exams from the exam generator are sold on the website only.
Pro and the Exam Pass are subject to fair use of 10,000 verified questions a month. Beyond that, generation falls back to your question pack if it has enough left for the job, then to the free allowance. We will tell you in the app before that happens rather than billing you extra.
Invites: every workspace has an invite link. When a classmate joins with it, confirms their email address and finishes a set, from their own notes or from a set shared with them, they get 20 extra free questions that month, and so do you if your own address is confirmed. Up to 3 invites count for you each month. A second account of your own does not count, and neither does a classmate on the same network as you that day. Bonus questions add questions only and end with the month. Nothing is given for posting, placing or keeping a link. If you post your invite link publicly, label the post as an ad, because you get questions when people join. We may take back bonus questions given for misuse.
7. Question packs
Question packs are no longer sold. This section covers the packs already bought. A question pack pays for verified questions generated on the priority models. Questions in a pack are deducted when a job is funded and the unused part is returned when a job produces fewer accepted questions than reserved. An answer key check of a file of your own exam questions is paid the same way as a generation, from the free allowance, your plan or a pack: one question for each of your questions that a model was asked about and replied to, whatever the reply says. Questions that were not sent to a model, because no passage of your notes matched them, and questions whose request failed are not charged. Questions in a pack are not money, are not transferable between accounts, cannot be exchanged for cash, and expire 12 months after purchase. Refunds are covered by the refund policy.
8. Availability and changes
We aim to keep the service running but we do not promise uninterrupted availability. Features may change, and we may add, alter or withdraw parts of the service. If a change materially reduces what you have paid for, you may cancel and ask for a proportionate refund of the unused period. We may change these terms; the version in force is the one published on this page, and material changes will be announced in the app at least 14 days before they take effect for existing subscribers.
9. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the service at any time. Deleting a document in your library removes its questions, exams and results. To close the account itself, use the delete account control on your account page, or the delete account page; it takes effect at once. We may suspend or close an account that breaks section 5, that is used fraudulently, or where we are required to by law. If we close a paid account without cause, we refund the unused part of the period.
10. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. Subject to that, the service is provided as is, we do not warrant that generated questions are accurate or fit for any particular exam, and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including exam results, lost study time or lost data where you have not kept your own copies.
11. Consumer rights
If you are a consumer, you keep every right the law gives you, including under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. Nothing here takes those away.
12. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you live elsewhere in the United Kingdom you may also bring proceedings in your local courts.
