About MedUni Exam
MedUni Exam is a study tool that writes exam questions from the file a student uploads and checks each one against the page it quotes. It is built and run by one person, Nicholas, from Hailsham, East Sussex, BN27, United Kingdom.
What the site is
A student uploads a chapter, a lecture deck or scanned notes and gets practice questions written from its own sentences. Every question carries a verbatim quote and the page it sits on, the server looks the quote up on that page, and a second model from a different family answers the question from the quote alone before a student sees it. The how it works page walks through the checks.
Who builds it
Nicholas is a software developer. He writes the code, answers the support inbox, reads the pages the exam boards publish and decides what the checks reject. He holds no medical qualification and none is claimed anywhere on the site: what the site knows about an exam is what the body that runs it has published, quoted with its source.
How the numbers are counted
Two kinds of number appear on the site. The counts, such as the questions verified and the rejection rates by model family, are read from the database of the site at most twice an hour and never typed into a sentence; the rejection rates page prints them with the number they were counted from. The exam facts, such as a pass mark, a fee or a test date, are read from the page or the PDF of the body that runs the exam, and each one prints beside the address it was read from and the day it was read.
How the articles are sourced and checked
Each number post and each article in another language was written from the primary sources it links: the exam board, the ministry or the university that publishes the figure. Every figure names its source and the day it was read, arithmetic done for the article is marked as such, and a date a page prints as still to come is held against the calendar by a test that fails once it has passed. The check date is in the byline of every article. If a number is wrong, write to the contact page and it gets fixed, with the change logged on the changes page.
What it is not
It is not a question bank and it has no connection to any exam board: not the NBME, the GMC, the NCSBN, NABP, the AAMC, the NBOME, the IMPP or any other body named on the exam pages. Nothing on the site is medical advice.
