NCLEX-RN pass rate, fee, questions and results timing
The NCLEX-RN has 85 questions at the minimum and 150 at the maximum, answered inside a five hour period that includes all breaks, under the 2026 NCLEX-RN Test Plan effective April 1, 2026. A minimum length exam is 52 content items, 18 case study items and 15 unscored pretest items. The NCLEX passing score is 0.00 logits, and the result comes back as a pass or a fail with no score and no percentile. The NCLEX fee is USD 200 for U.S. licensure, and NCSBN states that it becomes USD 350 on February 1, 2027.

Where the 2026 test plan can be matched, and where it cannot
The NCSBN pool is not published. Your lecture deck is. A minimum length NCLEX-RN is 85 items: 52 drawn from the eight Client Needs categories, 18 forming three clinical judgment case studies, and 15 unscored pretest items. The 52 are reachable from your own material, and the recipe below weights a 52 item set across the eight categories using the percentages the 2026 test plan sets out.
The 18 are not. A case study is six items built on one client whose information is revealed a step at a time, one item for each step of the NCSBN clinical judgment model. That structure, and the matrix, bow tie, highlight and drop down formats that go with it, is not something a question generator working from a lecture deck produces. Anyone selling you Next Generation simulation from a PDF is overclaiming.

What this cannot do

- The 18 case study items of a minimum length exam cannot be produced here. They are six item unfolding cases built on the clinical judgment measurement model, with information revealed step by step.
- Next Generation item formats, including matrix, bow tie, highlight, drop down and trend items, are not generated. What you get is single best answer and select all that apply.
- The exam is computer adaptive and stops when it has decided. Nothing here reproduces adaptive difficulty or the pass rule.
- Dosage calculation items are the weakest type, because a calculation is reasoned rather than quoted, and an item that cannot cite a line on the page is dropped before you see it.

Does it write select all that apply items?
Yes. Ask for multi select and you get items with more than one correct option. That is the format students lose the most points on, so it is worth asking for more of them than feels comfortable.
Can it produce Next Generation case studies?
No, and this page says so above. Case studies are six item unfolding cases with shared client information, and that is outside what a question generator writes from a lecture deck.
Will the questions be at licensing exam level?
The format matches and the categories can be weighted. The difficulty follows your source: a first semester fundamentals deck gives first semester questions.
