MCAT score range, test dates, fees and attempt limits
The MCAT score range is 472 to 528, with a midpoint of 500 and no passing score, on the AAMC score scale checked on September 22, 2026. There is no MCAT pass rate either, because the exam reports a scaled score rather than a pass or a fail: the mean of the 305,494 scores on the current AAMC percentile table is 500.6, and the mean of people who matriculated to U.S. MD-granting medical schools in 2025-2026 was 512.1. The MCAT fee is USD 355 standard and USD 145 with the Fee Assistance Program for the 2026 testing year, and you can take the MCAT 3 times in a testing year and 7 times in a lifetime.

Each science section has 15 discrete questions standing on their own between the passage sets, about 45 of the 230 items on the exam, and they are pure content: biology, biochemistry, general and organic chemistry, physics, psychology and sociology. That is the question type written here. Upload the chapter you are reviewing and ask for a block; each item makes you apply one concept from those pages and prints the line it came from underneath, so a miss sends you back to the exact paragraph.
Passage sets and critical analysis and reasoning skills test reading a text you have never seen, so they belong to a passage bank rather than to anything written from your notes. The limits below say where that line falls, so you can pair the two and spend your review time on the content you still get wrong.

- Critical analysis and reasoning skills cannot be practiced here at all. All 53 of its questions hang off passages you have never read, and the skill is reading them, not knowing content.
- The passage based majority of each science section, about 44 of 59 questions, is not produced. What you get is the discrete question type.
- This is not an AAMC item pool and it has no connection to the AAMC. It writes questions from the file you upload.
- Figures, spectra and data plots are not read as images, and MCAT passages lean on them.

Should I use this for the MCAT?
For content self testing on the science sections, yes: upload the chapter you are reviewing and drill it. Passage sets and CARS come from a passage bank, so pair the two.
Why can it not write passages?
Because every question here has to quote a line from a document you uploaded and cite its page. That is what makes the questions checkable, and it is also what stops the tool writing a new passage for you to reason about.
